SESSION SPEAKER

Michael McCusker, ACE

Editor at ACE

Michael McCusker, ACE, has been cutting films for the last 20 years (yeah surprised me too). A graduate of Emerson College, Mike began his career working for Gracie Films during the nascent days of The Simpsons; from there he moved into film production on such movies as Star Trek VI and then transitioned into development at Largo Entertainment and Propaganda Films. Mike found his true passion when he moved to the cutting room where he ascended through the ranks to First Assistant on several major film productions. In 2004 Mike was tapped by director James Mangold to edit Walk The Line which garnered him the 2006 ACE Eddie Award for Best Musical/Comedy and an Academy Award nom for Best Editing. In 2019 he won the Oscar for Mangold's Ford v Ferrari which he co-edited with Andrew Buckland, ACE. Mike remains a frequent collaborator of Mangold and has worked across several genres, including action, drama, superhero and musical, as well as on major franchises for Disney, Marvel and Sony.
