Gregg Katano is Founder and CEO of Cosmos Collab, a consultancy that explores and demystifies emerging tech and media to create solutions for companies looking to navigate the ever-changing business landscape. Gregg is also Head of Business Development and Marketing for STYLY, the leading spatial computing company in Japan. Additionally, Gregg contributes to various professional organizations in entertainment, enterprise, and academia. Notable positions include, Executive Committee Member and Chair of Events for the Emerging Media Programming Peer Group of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (‘TV Academy’); Chair, Sports Video Group (SVG) ‘NEXT’ ‘AI, XR, and Beyond’; Advisory Member / Judge, SXSW ‘Startup Pitch’, Founding Advisory Board Member of the Cal State University Entertainment Alliance (CSUEA); and previously, two-term Co-Vice Chair of the Producers Guild of America ‘New Media Council’. Throughout his career, Gregg has been involved in many significant milestone moments as both an entrepreneur and through companies that were pushing the limits at the intersection of technology, media, and business. In 1998, Gregg launched, Digital Trading Post, the very first digital artist agency. He demonstrated the viability of fractional content as production platforms were becoming more robust and affordable and the internet was becoming exponentially faster. Gregg would then go on to launch one of the first high-definition studios, ‘Momentum’, to support companies with their transition from standard def to high def. As stereoscopic 3D began to heat up, Gregg produced the first high-definition 3D television episode, ‘Medium’, and some of the most commercially successful live 3D events, ESPN’s, ‘3D X-Games: The Movie, Red Bull’s 3D Rampage, and Foo Fighters ‘Wasting Light’ 3D. When virtual reality emerged onto the scene, Gregg saw the potential and accepted the role as Head of Business Strategy and Marketing for one of the very first and leading producers of Google Cardboard. Following years evangelizing ‘Cardboard’ and the importance of distribution, Gregg then headed up U.S. business strategy and operations for Hologate, helping it to become the world’s leading developer of VR location based entertainment systems, which can be found across 23 countries worldwide. Gregg’s mission is to bring together his breadth of experience and knowledge, his tireless drive to seek out what’s “next” in emerging technologies, and his extensive professional network to support individuals and companies create meaningful connection and opportunities.
