As organization adopt new technologies and utilize the cloud for business innovation and growth, security teams are challenged with ensuring that those initiatives and missions are successful. To do that they are faced with creating an effective security program from a fragmented patchwork of solutions and data sources that really don’t interoperate very well without a great deal of development work. Join us to hear how a number of leading vendors are coming together with the intent of creating an open source platform to allow security solutions to communicate over a standard fabric during the entire threat management life cycle, from threat hunting, analytics and detection through to incident response and orchestration.

2 – 2:15 p.m. ET

session-img

Security monitoring across your infrastructure; covering workstations, laptops to servers, networking and cloud to provide combined protection for your company data, in the office, at home and in the cloud. This session discusses our comprehensive cyber protection as-a-service that looks at the whole picture to deliver regular feedback to ensure you are optimally protected, whilst working in the background to focus on the real threats you face.

Microsoft continues to support the Media and Entertainment organizations during these trying times by enabling remote collaboration, content production, editing and the ability to provide personalized experiences to deepen audience engagement. In this session we will share use cases and best practices from our customers and partners who are making this possible.

2 – 2:30 p.m. ET

session-img

Often regarded as “not really stealing anything,” account sharing – beyond what the customer signed off on – is clearly fraud. Similarly, account takeover and digital piracy is outright theft. Together, the loss to streaming service companies in 2019 was estimated at $9.1B in the U.S. alone, with losses projected to grow 38% by 2024. With streaming services striving to be competitive and customer-friendly by allowing account sharing to a certain number of users and devices, they need to enhance misuse detection far beyond monitoring a limited number of parameters such as IP addresses and device type. Join us to hear how a sophisticated and mature fraud detection and digital identity risk solution protecting 225 million accounts worldwide is being brought to bear on this growing M&E challenge. We will share our latest dark web research and the use case of a leading European streaming provider deploying the solution to identify non-authorized users, simplify the user experience, and garner loyalty and growth.

2 – 2:30 p.m. ET

session-img

Join this session that reviews the issues and solutions content distributors across all industries and geographies have encountered as content consumption has spiked after the onset of COVID-19. We’ll explore our findings through a review of usage data and a variety of security scenarios, then consider proactive piracy mitigation strategies and trends to consider in the future. Anyone who is interested in protecting intellectual property and piracy’s impact on the bottom line should attend.

Cloud-based AI and machine learning (ML) solutions continue to transform and accelerate virtually every aspect of content creation and distribution. As these technologies grow in power and sophistication, they’re bringing new levels of accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and cost savings to broadcast operations. This session will draw upon and illustrate real-world applications of A/I implemented by leading content producers and distributors. We will examine use cases across the media delivery chain, including production, post-production, and distribution.

2:20 – 2:35 p.m. ET

session-img

The presentation introduces ContentArmor forensic video watermarking technology and explain how it can tackle various use cases such as premium VOD, postproduction as well as post-Covid-19 new usages. As our world converts to more virtual marketing events, screenings and festivals that deliver premium online video experiences, the need to identify content has exponentially increased.

In the “Threat Environment” being faced today by the M&E industry, data security throughout the content value chain is of paramount importance, and the focus of strategy, and budgets worldwide. API security is particularly important, yet this area is often overlooked in the development of data protection planning. As a result, API’s have become attractive targets and are a major factor in many recent data leaks. In many cases, there is insufficient understanding of their importance and many companies are at much greater risk than realized. Lou Powell leads PK’s global API practice, and his team are experts at developing enterprise-level, “bulletproof APIs” that have been relied upon in critical applications where data breaches are simply not an option. This session with cover PK’s strategies and thinking around secure API development and discuss case studies involving some of the world’s leading brands where API security has been pivotal to their success in the marketplace.

2:40 – 2:55 p.m. ET

session-img

This session explains what it takes to deliver vulnerability management at scale and how can we keep pace with the speed of development. What is the trade-off between speed and accuracy and why is this acceptable? We’ll cover highlights of our Edgescan Vulnerability Stats report 2020 by focusing on the most common vulnerabilities and what it means to deliver a robust cybersecurity programme for any enterprise. We will also address why hackers just don’t give a damn!

Featuring:

2:40 – 2:55 p.m. ET

This session presents on the alerting trends in consumer viewing habits and piracy from recent research, and how companies are mitigating these risks through geo-filtering circumvention testing, credential sharing analytics and watermarking. We also look at content security in the time of Covid-19 and securing assets in the cloud.

Featuring:

2:40 – 2:55 p.m. ET

Game engines are not just for video games anymore. In this session you’ll learn how platforms like Unreal and Unity are infiltrating every industry – from film to advertising, enterprise, music, and more.

2:40 – 2:55 p.m. ET

Piracy has been with us since the silent movie era. So has enforcement. So your CFO isn’t crazy to ask, “What’s the ROI on fighting?” This session will survey the academic literature on that very question, exploring concepts like “displacement” as well as how the bad guys make money. If you’re trying to figure out how to measure piracy and fund your defenses, this is a good session for you. Leading the discussion will be Shane Keats, Global Director of Video Industry Marketing where he analyses security challenges through a video-centric lens. Prior to Akamai, he was a product marketing leader at security company McAfee, as well as a business news journalist with CNN Moneyline.

So pull up a couch, and join us for some Workflow Therapy!

3 – 3:15 p.m. ET

session-img

As we emerge from lockdown, the M&E supply chain is adapting to a distributed workforce through collaborative tools and workflows, SaaS-based applications and the cloud. Temporary fixes need more permanent solutions and security needs to keep pace with this dynamic environment where continuous monitoring is key to maintaining ongoing assurance that prevents businesses from being exposed. This session addresses the key ways to embrace security while keeping within budget.

Twitter has stated that its staff were targeted through vishing leading to the unprecedented hack netting scammers more than $100,000 by posting on behalf of celebrities. With organizational teams more disperse than ever and attackers eager to take advantage of new vulnerabilities, the impact of hacks have exponentially increased. Pre-COVID-19, word of a detected vishing campaign could spread around the office quickly, but with a decentralized workforce, it may take hours or days for employees to be aware of the attack resulting in more than one victim as seen by the recent Twitter hack. If organizations don’t test their security with penetration tests and social engineering, hackers will. This talk will share how vendors and studios are able to fight off attackers by engaging in ethical hacking engagements. Don’t let this year be known as the year of breaches.

The Cloud makes delivering new services easier than ever, but developing them can still take a great deal of time, effort, and money – particularly if you want to follow industry best practices and take full advantage of the Cloud’s potential deployment/scaling/security/disaster recovery capabilities. This is even harder when you have a mature API with an installed customer base that must be supported 24/7 without service interruption. The solution is to deploy API shims developed on an open-source platform backed by commercial support so you’re not reinventing the wheel, you can leverage modular design and code-reuse, you can perform complex tasks with a small amount of linking JavaScript, and you have an experienced partner to support and guide you through the initial learning curve. In this case study, EIDR (the Entertainment Identifier Registry Association) will show how they’ve used the integrated Reshuffle platform to deliver new APIs in a way that encourages experimentation and innovation and quickly delivers new features supporting new customer applications without disrupting the installed customer base.

3:30 – 4 p.m. ET
