Melissa Lawton is the Chief Content Officer at SailGP, responsible for all owned content from the in-house Live Broadcast to Long Form content series to social media. Melissa arrived at SailGP in 2022 after 4 years Meta in New York where she was the Head of Live Sports Production, before that 5 years as Head of Live Event Content at Red Bull in Salzburg, Austria. A Global citizen, Melissa has also lived and worked in Beijing, New Delhi and Sydney, in Producer and Programming roles at two Olympics Games, one World Cup and a Commonwealth Games. A journalist by trade, she first cut her teeth in the sports tv business with her time as a Producer at Network Ten Australia which was then the Home of Motorsport. Melissa currently lives a chaotic life in London with her husband, her two sassy teenage daughters and their very sweet dog, Lulu. Melissa is a founding member of Chief, A board advisor to Women’s National Football Conference (USA) and on the Board of Directors at British Basketball.
