Sean McNulty is the author of The Wakeup, the daily morning email for entertainment and media executives that distills the analysis and news to know in the movie, TV, streaming and media industries. The Wakeup is part of a suite of newsletters from Ankler Media, where he also hosts The Ankler Podcast.

McNulty previously spent two decades in the industry as a producer and executive at HBO, Charter and Dotdash, where he created and ran teams producing video, podcast and marketing content franchises with a proven record of resonating with audiences across a variety of platforms from streaming, digital/social media, linear TV and on demand. At HBO, he launched several successful pop culture digital video franchises and doubled brand YouTube channel subscribers year-over-year three years in a row.

He then launched and led the Cinemax Original Series Marketing video production team, running content campaigns across broadcast, digital and social platforms for shows from Steven Soderbergh, Alan Ball, Frank Spotnitz and Robert Kirkman among others. 

McNulty also has a passion for the beer business, where he writes and produces the Insiders Week in Beer newsletter for trade publication Brewbound. He is based in New York City.
