What are the biggest trends impacting your community right now?

Shift in Ad Spending: Advertising dollars are rapidly moving from traditional broadcast to connected TV (CTV) and digital platforms, driven by the demand for more targeted and measurable advertising.

AI and Automation: AI is increasingly being used to automate content curation, ad targeting and personalization, helping local broadcasters optimize operations, cut costs and improve viewer engagement.

Content Fragmentation and Competition: With more platforms and content choices than ever, local broadcasters and platforms must differentiate themselves by producing unique and relevant content to retain and grow their audience, form and maintain a daily habit.

What challenges does the community need to overcome, because of these trends?

Monetizing streaming audiences is a key opportunity for local stations and platforms, especially as traditional ad models change. With so much content competition across platforms, local broadcasters need to keep their offerings fresh and relevant to maintain a daily habit and help create new habits for the next generation.

What’s one thing you wish the community knew about?

I am sure most know this, however I think it will be much more disruptive than we expected: AI is set to be a game-changer for all media platforms. It will streamline content creation, enhance personalization and automate content curation, allowing stations to deliver more relevant programming. AI will also help manage costs by improving operational efficiencies, from scheduling to ad targeting.

What are the top 3 things that attendees should go hunt down on the show floor to expand what they just learned in your sessions?

Attendees should seek out vendors that can help implement AI to enhance personalization, streamline content curation and automate workflows. Look for solutions that help monetize more effectively through programmatic ads and targeted advertising. Additionally, explore tools that improve operational efficiency, such as cloud-based workflows that integrate digital and broadcast operations seamlessly.

What discussions should they be having with the exhibitors?

Attendees should ask exhibitors to explain their innovation roadmaps and how they plan to evolve quickly to meet future needs. The best vendors will help you anticipate trends, streamline workflows to reduce friction, lower costs and maximize revenue. Look for partners who can ensure you’re monetizing every impression on every platform at the highest CPM possible while maintaining efficiency across operations.
