Stephen Espinoza joined Showtime Networks Inc., in November 2011 as head of SHOWTIME Sports®. He is responsible for developing and executing the overall strategy for the department, including acquiring all sports and event programming for SHOWTIME® and SHOWTIME PPV®, the network’s pay per view production and distribution division. The network’s current Sports Emmy Award winning original programming lineup includes SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, INSIDE THE NFL, 60 MINUTES SPORTS, and the acclaimed sports documentary series ALL ACCESS. 

In his brief tenure at the network, Espinoza has secured the rights to many of the biggest and most significant boxing matches in the sport, including negotiating an exclusive deal with the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world, global star Floyd Mayweather. In September 2013, Espinoza oversaw the execution of “Mayweather vs. Canelo” on SHOWTIME PPV, which set a new record as the highest-grossest pay-per-view event in television history. Approximately 18 months later, Espinoza was instrumental in bringing the long-awaited Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout to fruition, which set a new record with over 4.5 million pay-per-view buys and more than $450 million in domestic pay-per-view revenue.
