Robert Yeoman, ASC

Robert Yeoman, ASC, recently received Oscar and ASC Award nominations for Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. He has photographed all of Anderson’s live-action features, which also include “Bottle Rocket”, “Rushmore”, “The Royal Tenenbaums”, “The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou”, “The Darjeeling Limited” and “Moonrise Kingdom”. He won an Independent Spirit Award in 1990 for Gus Van Sant’s “Drugstore Cowboy”, and was also nominated for “Moonrise Kingdom” in 2013. His other feature credits include “Bridesmaids”, “Whip It”, “The Squid and the Whale”, “Red Eye”, “CQ”, and the upcoming releases “Love & Mercy” and “Spy”.

Ben Baker

Ben Baker’s professional experience has been across a broad range of US and UK studio and independent films as a post producer, project consultant or workflow supervisor, in areas as diverse as on location dailies and editorial for digital cinematography, high end digital intermediate mastering, feature film restoration and digital asset management over the life-cycle of entire projects, from development to distribution.

He was the head of Digital Lab at visual effects company Framestore in London for 5 years working closely on workflow management for major studio pictures, has consulted on archive projects for the BFI and BBC in the UK and the Sundance Institute and Warner Bros Studios in the US. 

He currently works as a post production supervisor for features and series in New York, and as a workflow consultant for media organizations trying to make sense of this new digital world.

Vern Fotheringham

He has also been a public policy and regulatory advocate for new telecommunications service rules and standards, and an inventor and creator of now globally adopted standards, innovative new products and services.

Previously he was the President and CEO of ADAPTIX, Inc., a world leader in the development of the OFDMA technology that is now the core of the Mobile WiMAX and LTE broadband radio systems.

Career highlights include: pioneering the wireless broadband industry as the founder of both Advanced Radio Telecom Corporation and WavTrace; direct participation with the international development of the cellular telephone industry in the US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Sweden, Hong Kong, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and Bangladesh; creation and development of the mobile satellite, satellite radio broadcasting, and the direct to user broadband satellite industry with the following organizations: Omninet (MSS and RDSS L-Band), OmniTRACS (now Qualcomm Ku-Band mobile data), AMSC (now LightSquared L-Band MSS), NORCOM Networks (now Wireless Matrix L-Band mobile data), Digital Satellite Broadcasting Corp (S-Band BSS), Pentriad (Q-Band FSS), and IPB Satellite Services (IPStar Ku-Band DTH).

Tom Jennings

After starting as a general assignment reporter and obit writer for small city newspapers in Ohio and Tennessee, Jennings spent several years as a business journalist in London and Washington before moving into documentary television production in 1996. Since then he has worked on dozens of films and produced documentaries covering a spectrum of subjects, from the science of heart transplantation to hard investigations into disaster aid graft, big-city police cover-ups and international intelligence agency failures. He has written, produced and directed films that have appeared on PBS, HBO, National Geographic and Discovery and has collaborated with the most esteemed names in journalism.

Jennings has been producing for PBS FRONTLINE since 2009, when he first collaborated with the investigative reporting group ProPublica. His resulting film,Law and Disorder, about police shootings of civilians during the week after Katrina, won the prestigious George Polk Award for television reporting and was nominated for an Emmy Award. Jennings subsequently produced Doctor Hotspot (2012) and Being Mortal (2015) with surgeon and New Yorker writer Atul Gawande and the Emmy-nominated In addition to two Polk Awards, Jennings has also won two national Emmy Awards, the duPont-Columbia Silver Baton Award, the Overseas Press Club Award, the Edward R. Murrow Award and three Writers Guild of America Awards.

Jennings teaches documentary writing and development at NYU’s celebrated film school. He has been an active member of the WGA/WGAE since 2000.

Mark August

Mark August is a veteran camera operator and filmmaker. His experience in United States Navy of 25 years as a combat photographer behind a camera has sharpen his skills and a current Naval reservist. A veteran of Desert Storm War in 1991 and Global War on Terrorism in Afghanistan. A current member of Navy Dive unit Undersea Rescue Command (the US Navy’s only submarine rescue unit). Mark will retire in March 2015 with a Honorable Discharge, into retirement for the Armed Forces Reserves.

He is a current member of the camera guild local 600, founding member of the Digital Cinema Society, Veterans in Film and Television (VFT), and proud member of the Society of Camera Operators serving as the President.

Lyle Shwartz

As head of research and marketplace analysis Lyle’s responsibilities include designing, developing and implementing approaches that provide GroupM clients with superior marketplace. Intelligence, including both quantitative and qualitative assessment of media and marketing issues. He is also charged with monitoring the current landscape linear and non linear and identifying trends and opportunities for GroupM clients.

Lyle rejoined GroupM from A&E Television Networks where as VP Research he was responsible for directing the research department in providing research and insights to the National and Affiliate Sales teams, programming and marketing for the various A&E endeavors. During his tenure he was involved in the naming, marketing and positioning of it’s two new digital channels.

Prior to leaving A&E, Lyle was a 14 year veteran of Y&R(now part of GroupM) where he developed the account planning group within Strategic Media Research.

Lyle is a graduate of Hunter College and lives in Airmont, New York with his wife, Marjorie and his three kids, daughter Brittany, and sons Aaron and Scott.

John Celli

As President of SSL, John Celli is the company’s top executive and is responsible for its strategic direction. He has more than 30 years of industry experience and has previously served with the company as Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President, and Senior Vice President of Engineering, Manufacturing, & Test Operations.

As Chief Operating Officer Mr. Celli was responsible for all aspects of operations, and as Executive Vice President he led the organization responsible for the development, manufacturing, testing and procurement of all satellite units and subsystems and he also oversaw procurement, information systems, and the facilities organization.

From 1996 to 2001, Mr. Celli was executive director of SSL’s Intelsat IX program where he led the successful development and delivery of seven advanced multi-frequency communication satellites. From 1981 to 1996 he held a variety of other engineering and management positions with increasing management responsibility.

Before joining SSL in 1981, Mr. Celli held design and management positions for space products and ground systems at Alenia S.P.A. (Rome, Italy) for six years, while supporting academic developments at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rome.

Mr. Celli holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rome, Italy.
