What are the biggest trends impacting the community/industry right now?

AI-powered malicious code is significantly increasing the threat of cyber-attacks and making it harder for security teams to protect their companies and the broadcast environment. Also, new SEC rules are changing compliance requirements and changes in cybersecurity insurance are forcing companies to pay more for less.

What challenges does the community need to overcome, because of these trends?

Media company executives must spend more time listening to their security teams as they strive to help firms balance their appetite for risk against their willingness to invest in cybersecurity teams and tools.

What’s one thing you wish more media pros knew about?

Company employees need ongoing cybersecurity training to help them avoid opening or clicking on malicious emails, to remind them to alert security teams if they want to use new apps when producing video and to remind them to be careful when taking work home on a laptop or, worse, a USB drive.

What are the top three things that attendees should go hunt down on the show floor to expand what they just learned in your sessions?

Executives and managers need to ask technology vendors about their investments in cybersecurity, their procedures for updating software running on media company networks and their ability to complete an annual audit of their cybersecurity hygiene.
